Furniture Placement Tips - how much room do you REALLY need...?
Here are some handy tips when laying out furniture in your home:
1. Keep a minimum of 2.5' for walkways - this allows people to move around without bumping into pieces or feeling like they have to "tip toe" around your furniture!
2. Place your coffee table 14-18" from your sofa. This allows for easy movement around it, yet still keeps it close enough to be convenient.
3. Any edge of your Dining Room Table should be at least 4' from any wall or other piece of furniture. Now guests can comfortably move around the table, push chairs in/out, etc.
4. Seating surfaces (chairs, love seats, sofas) should not be more than 8' from each other to facilitate easy conversations - without yelling across the room!
